HND is coming to an end and its more stressful than a game of russian roulette. Deadlines for classes are all for round about the same time. I'm getting there though, slowly getting work done at home and in class.
My time management skills have been pretty good during the past week or two, organising and performing our bands tour around Scotland, and setting aside time for homework.
There's first study in which i have to learn a grade 8 piece for my audition into the degree, music history in which i have to write an essay, session skills in which i have to write up three evaluations, articulation and composition class in which i have to notate songs on sibelious....
.....i have a lot to do, pretty much...
The gig for our metal (Download Festival 09) band isn't far away now :)
Cant wait! Slipknot, Korn, Buck Cherry and Limp Bizkit!!

Coming Undone
Recently my heads been aching and my minds been spinning. Unsure of whats to come in the next few years, I've been trying to make stupid decisions due to being restless...
I've cleared my head now and I've made the decision to stay on and do the degree. To be honest i don't know why I was thinking otherwise.
But yes, back at college now :)
Our next group band is 'Download Festival 2009'. Its going to be amazing! haha
History is as interesting yet mindnumbing as ever, and i have to get printouts of my graded unit and articualtion homework printed out for thursday/friday.
Session skills is still very interesting- learning about contractual obligations and about the perks of being a multi-instrumentalist when it comes to recording in studio sessions.
We'll no doubt be recording again this thursday so il see how that goes. Should be fun :)

Woohoo!
Holidays, time to get things done, get work sorted. Cant wait to start again and do the next college band. Glam rock was immense, but Download Festival band will be even better!! :D
Trying to get Eat Dr. Ape stuff sorted for the album launch on Saturday the 1st of May. We were in town today getting a photoshoot :) 50's style waistcoats, suits and bowler hats. We looked "the shit" :D Hoping to move out soon too, have more time to work on college and Eat Dr. Ape, write some new bangin' tunes!
Besides that i have been lazing about, working every now and then and i also wrote a poem/ statement the other week, but its 'love' point of view is now slightly irrelevant due to recent events :) i will still finish it though.
'They say its better to have loved and lost
than never loved at all,
That life’s not worth living if there isn’t love involved.
But I live without love and I love my life -
So if living is loving
then love means nothing."

There was a chav and an emo and a friend and a dyke,
about an hour and ten minutes to set up a mic, woooooo
Ohhhhhhh, I better shut my face, cos i know i shouldnt bitch,
but i'm in the mood for typing due to Fabbri and Frith.
Essays nearly done; Glam Rock tomorrow night;

Turn the poowwer up, I've waited for so long so i can hear my favourite song so let's go!! Wooooo!
Glam Rock. is. amazing!! haha
Yesterday we had another glam rock practice after articulation class, as we've missed a couple of practices due to external gigs and in-service days.
It feels like the next college gig is coming up way too quick... although when comparing this semester with the elongated months of Beatles band rehearsals last semester, it makes sense.
Don't get me wrong - Beatles band was fantastic! :D After we got all the stagecraft and musical aspects sorted, we managed to put on a half-decent show, highly marked in almost all areas of our performance. This has only given me more confidence, and makes me want to do just as well, if not better, in this next band. We're going to have more practices on top of the extra practice we had yesterday, just to make sure we're ready for the gig. But, we aren't ready until we have our lycra, wigs, and arse-less chaps :P Got to get our cat-suits ordered haha
After recording with Liam, Jamie and JP in session skills on Thursday, i really can't wait to get back in the studio in glasgow with Eat Dr. Ape, with a sound engineer who knows how to plug in a microphone...
The past few weeks have been a bit stressful. The four of us have had to decide on the song listing for our new album and go over all the songs with ears like Ben Stiller and make sure there's no unintended dissonance, or if there's anything that should be added to make the songs more interesting. Artwork has to be made, a gig at the Tams for the album launch has to be organised, and newspapers, magazines and radio stations have to be contacted after we've made press packs and copy written our music.
We now own EDA Publishing Co. which is what JP has been hard at work setting up. Now that that's done, we can run professionally and efficiently as if we were a record label, and should get paid more. Last year we never really made any money at all from any band related activities. But, im a strong believer in 'you have to spend money to make money' and this year is hopefully the year we make it big and win back all of our expenses, studio time being one of our more costly endeavours.
So yeah... college band, my band, lots of homework to do and people to phone, and mock interviews in graded unit next week :D
I've got a lot of work to do actually...
Fun fun fun! *thumbs up*

I Wanna Rock!
Sorry i havn't made a blog for a while, i'll try to be clever in a bid to reconcile -
writing in style and making you smile, and trying my very best not to be vile.
Christmas was fun but the next day was shit... had to work in the snow and i have to admit i wanted to quit, fall down and submit, when i got a delivery that wasn't legit.
Prank calls aren't funny, I make less money! Its the middle of winter, its not f****** sunny.
Anyway, i'll swiftly move on to new year which was really amazing and so was the beer. The 12 o'clock cheer, nostalgia and tears, and a drunk talking bollocks I did not want to hear.
We made new years resolutions which we broke straight away, woke up and felt total rank the next day. John wasn't proud of his dancing display which i still have on video, wayhayhayhay
Holidays finished and college began, nights at the loft with our mates and our band. JP, Quinny, McNeil and Joanne -John's through in Glasgow which isn't that grand- J, Jack and Duncy, Mark Macsporran, and JP's future wife... Hannah the man...
He looked really scared but she didn't get the hint, she just kept on staring with that flirtatious glint. Trying hard not to laugh as she kept looking over, it was very amusing... but the fun wasn't over - A fat chick fell over! it looked quite severe, but she landed ok cos' she's shaped like a sphere.
Aside from the parties and holiday fun i've been trying to write lyrics which are nearly done. Playing it next week up in the Deen at a charity gig, we're all really keen. Its becoming routine, a gig every week, our bands been gigging non-stop so to speak. Excited for next month, its already planned - recording our album "Love & Lust in Wonderland."... Download it off iTunes, that would be grand :) x
All of this stuff about drinking with buddies has nothing to do with my perth college studies, so let me divert from my holiday banter of hogmannay, christmas, roast dinners and santa.
College is back, the semester's begun, and first study always gets more and more fun;
Glam Rocks a treat!! (2 songs are complete) and advanced theory class with Marlisa and Pete; Historys back and im not looking forward to essays and typing i dont find straightforward, but never-the-less the class never bores me except when the teacher tends to ignore me.
Digital Audio's always exciting with Cubase and websites and next to no writing, composing a song with the aid of computers which always comes out sounding vaguely like Scooter...
Composing has always been my favourite task which is why i look forward to doing more in class- from metal to jazz, writing for brass, making it sound good and not total gash.
After hearing the brass section in session skills, writing in B flat sound like a thrill, with Gavin, Natalie, Zoe and Mark, playing some soul music with Arron Stark.
I think this semester will be really great, glam band rehearsals and topic debates. I'll carry my weight and try not to be late, and try to have fun but not act like a chate.
Apologies once more for taking so long to update my blog, i've been in the wrong.
And whilst i am sitting here typing and eating, writinging in the style of the great A McKeating - Im going to stop now cos im going insane! Writing in rhyme... i wont do this again..
